Runrig are pleased to announce their big outdoor event for 2007. Entitled Beat the Drum, the concert will take place on Saturday 18 August 2007, at Borlum Farm, Drumnadrochit on the northern shores of Loch Ness.

Following on from previous successful outdoor spectaculars such as Loch Lomond, Edinburgh Castle and Stirling Castle the band now feel the time is right to stage a major outdoor concert in the Gaidhealtachd.

Highland Year of Culture 2007, provides the perfect opportunity to celebrate the powerful impact that Gaelic music has made in recent years, and to introduce the band’s considerable international audience to the heart of the landscape that has been the inspiration for so much of their music.

Runrig are working with Blas Festival to help showcase young musical talent during the event and it is expected that quite a number of artists will perform. Details of these and the main support acts will be posted as soon as they are confirmed.
