GATES OPEN:
Failte – Welcome to the Scone Corner. Now that 2009 has kicked in - the winter is beginning to cast away it’s icy sheen - snowdrops have started to pop their heads above the parapet and the first signs of new grass are beginning to get green in weather friendly locations - it’s time to start turning our thoughts towards the big show of the year. Get it in the diary now: Scone Palace. 29Aug.

As so many of you will be aware, this is the year that Scotland celebrates Homecoming, and this event will be very much in keeping with the Homecoming ethos and theme. When we first started thinking about a Homecoming event, we gave a lot of thought to possible locations. We had already gone to the Highlands in 2007 for our Beat The Drum show on the banks of Loch Ness, and after looking at all the possible locations, there was one that simply stood head and shoulders above the rest.

Scone is ideal in so many ways. Geographically, it is situated in the heart of Perthshire, and therefore, right in the heart of Scotland – Historically it has the perfect connection, being the place where the kings of Scotland were crowned – and in terms of the visual and scenic aspect, it could not be bettered. The green and rolling summer landscape of Perthshire is a joy to be part of.
The site for the concert will be in the Scone Palace Parklands, half way between the North bank of the River Tay looking up towards the Palace itself.

On this part of the web site we will keep you informed and up to date with all the latest information as it happens. We will shortly be in a position to announce the support acts and to provide more accurate information about the facilities available on the day, and on the general logistics of all details pertaining to travel, camping, etc.

But countdown starts now. See you there!
